On July 22, a final graduation event for the graduates of the 7th course was held in Tel Aviv. The event was also a community meeting of the alumni of previous years. The program for Social Economists is organized by the Social Economic Academy in collaboration with the Berl Katznelson Center and FES Israel.
The meeting, entitled “Between National Security and Social Security,” was attended by about 50 students, graduates of the program, mentors, guest lecturers and guests.
An exemplary project was presented as part of the practicum for the Civil Service Commission and a fascinating lecture was given by Brigadier General (Res.) Sasson Hadad on “The people and infrastructure of the Israeli defense system from a socio-economic perspective” for the program graduates.
This year, 47 students from Tel Aviv University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and for the first time also from Ben Gurion University in the Negev participated in the program. Its purpose is to integrate values and social-democratic perceptions into the economic training of the students and to encourage them to integrate into the public sector. Indeed – out of about 230 graduates who have completed the program since its inception, about a third have already integrated into the public sector.
We congratulate the current graduates and wish them much success along the way.
