On February 11th, FES Israel in cooperation with its partner Mitvim – The Israeli Institute for Regional Foreign Policies, conducted a workshop focusing on the relevance of the Arab Peace Initiative presented in 2002.
Some 25 experts from NGOs, Thinks Tanks, academic institutions and former diplomats discussed if and how the initiative can be turned into an effective and relevant incentive for a viable peace between Israel and the Arab world. They examined the level of awareness of the proposal in the Israeli public and whether its principles are still appealing and relevant under the current geopolitical circumstances.
Moreover, the question whether a normalization in the relations between Israel and the Arab/Islamic world is even conceivable without the revival of the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians was discussed.
For your information we have added the Summary of the policy – planning workshop.
