A high-ranking delegation of members of the “Circle Israel” visited Israel at the end of March, upon the invitation of FES Israel. Central topic of this year’s visit was the 50th Anniversary of German-Israeli diplomatic relations. Next to numerous talks concerning this topic, the delegation also discussed the current domestic situation after the elections in Israel. Besides talking to MK Hilik Bar, General Secretary of the Israel Labor Party, the SPD-delegates also had the possibility to get to know a new member of the Knesset, MK Ksenia Svetlova (Hatnuah). Additionally, they got the chance to exchange thoughts with Colette Avital, the head of the Center of Organizations of Holocaust Survivors in Israel. A visit with Action Reconciliation and at the Willy-Brandt-Centre concluded their stay.
