On the evening before Pessach a lively discussion about the political leanings and opinions of Russian speaking Israelis took place at the Table Talk Bar in Tel Aviv. The event was set up as a panel discussion with three distinguished journalists who provided the audience with valuable insights about Israeli politics, the importance of the “Russian-Israeli vote” and the chances for early elections. The evening was organized together with our Partner organization the Berl Katznelson Educational Center and was attended by many recent alumni’s of our Politikva courses.
The special guests of the evening were the three journalists Mazal Mualem, Rina Matzliach and Emil Shlimovitz. At times the discussion got quite heated and many people in the audience used the chance to voice their opinions. One point of friction in the discussion was why the center-left movement in Israel seems to some observers to be failing to attract many Russian-Israeli voters and what center-left parties can do in order to become a more attractive choice for Russian-speaking people in Israel.
The event concluded with a live music performance as a festive celebration of the launch of our new forum for Russian-speaking people in the center-left movement.
