On 10th May, FES-Israel together with its partner, the Israeli Association for the Study of European Integration (IASEI), hosted a symposium on the topic of “Euroscepticism and the Future of European Integration”. It was part of the Europe Day which was marked by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a number of events.
Keynote speaker Prof. Catherine de Vries from the University of Essex presented important points from her new monograph in which she examines the phenomenon of euroscepticism and its consequences for the future of European integration from a perspective of opinion and election research.
The second speaker Christos Kanellopolous from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens introduced the audience to the topic from a Greek point of view. The number of participants and the vivid subsequent discussion can certainly be seen as signs for the ample interest in this highly topical subject.
