ogb-delegation-to-israel-2On the occasion of the visit of the high-ranking delegation of the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB), the FES organized a Dinner Discussion on „Challenges to Economic, Social and Trade Union Policy in Israel and Europe“, on September 4th 2016, together with the Austrian Embassy. During dinner Erich Foglar, President of the ÖGB, Renate Anderl, Vice President of ÖGB and President of the Trade Union Womens’ Committee, Stefan Bartl, General Secretary of the Austrian Trade Union Youth, and Marcus Strohmeier, Head of the International Department of the ÖGB, engaged in a discussion with representatives of Israel’s umbrella organization of Trade Unions, Histadrut, as well as other Israeli experts and members of the Knesset.

The lively discussion was moderated by Werner Puschra and dealt with Austrian and Israeli trade union policy, and issues of social security, especially pension policies. Moreover the participants discussed challenges to economic policy in both countries.
