The Progressive Economists Program attempts to educate and train economics students in Israel, educating them towards social justice, critical thinking and social democratic values. The Program offers an annual course, conducted on a semestrial basis for students at Tel Aviv University and Hebrew University in Jerusalem. On Friday, March 13, students from both Universities met for the first time at the Workshop in Beit Berl. The Goal of the Workshop was to confront the students with complex political issues and challenging them to find solutions to the problems.

The Workshop provided the participants with practical tools which will be useful in their upcoming Internship and an understanding of the complexity inherent in outlining a social and economic policy.

The Progressive Economists Program is part of the Social Economic Academy (SEA), a non-profit organization, dedicated to education and training towards local activism and social change in Israel. The program’s target is to create a new, more socially conscious, generation of economists who will graduate from their studies with a deeper understanding of society, economy and their interfaces.
