
On December 20, the 10th Annual Conference of the Economics and Society Program at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute on the topic: Quality of Life in Israel: Present and Future was held at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute.
Prof. Andrew Oswald, Professor of Economics, University of Warwick, an internationally recognized researcher in the field was Guest Speaker and delivered an impressive lecture on the Subject: What Are The Determinants Of Our Quality Of Life?
Over the past two years the Economics and Society Program has been working on the creation of the Van Leer Measure of the Quality of Life in Israel, based on areas emphasized by the OECD. During the Conference, the first results of the study prepared by Prof. Michel Strawczynski and his team on the topic: “Measuring Quality of Life” were presented to the public. The study was discussed by researchers, experts, and policy-makers in various related areas, including environment, education, health, housing, welfare, and personal security.
