
On September 17th the Round Table on the subject Real Estate taxation and inequality in Israel took place at the College of Law and Business in Ramat Gan. The event was organized by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in cooperation with the Israel Tax Justice Network. Since the social protests of 2011, inequality, and rising property prices is a constant topic in Israeli society. Since 2008, the prices of housing have risen by about 66%. The reasons for the rapid rise, as well as possible solutions and new approaches to a change in the tax system within Israel were explained by experts. Moreover, the impact of the tax system on the growing inequality in Israel were discussed by all participants and the public at the Round Table.
