This week the second residential workshop of this year’s Greenhouse Women Program – a joint program of The New Fund for Cinema and Television and FES Israel – took place.
The eight-months-program brings together 13 talented female Israeli documentarists from diverse religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and supports them in the development of compelling documentaries that amplify women’s voices about important contemporary and social issues.
During the week-long workshop that took place in Kibbutz Tze’elim the participants were accompanied by the program’s three wonderful mentors Noit Geva, Ibtisam Mara’ana-Menuhin and Vidi Bilu. This time, we were very happy to welcome Israeli filmmaker Yair Lev who gave a lecture about techniques in documentary filmmaking, and the Georgian-born French filmmaker Nino Kirtadze who gave a masterclass and took plenty of time to share her experience with the women filmmakers. In one-to-one talks, she gave valuable tips and advice for realizing their own projects. In addition, the participants had the opportunity to watch the screening of Nino Kirtadze’s outstanding film “Tell my friends I’m dead”.
While the ideas are gradually assuming their final shape we are getting more and more curious to see the results expected in February 2019.
