At a special meeting organized by FES Israel, We Power and the Dafna Fund – the Steering Committee of Project “Shutfut 2018” convened for the first time at the office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Herzliya. Project “Shutfut 2018” is a common initiative of FES Israel, We Power and the Dafna Fund – Women collaborating for change.
The Steering Committee of “Shutfut 2018” is composed of representatives from leading Women and Civil Society Organisations, from all sectors of Israeli society, who aspire to change the rate of women representation in local councils in Israel in the upcoming elections of 2018.
In the launching event all options for supporting women willing to present their candidacy in the elections were discussed. All participants in “Shutfut 2018” consider the Project as a national opportunity to bring about the long awaited change in representation of women in local politics.
