The project Stepping Together – Jewish- Arab Seminar for Equality and Partnership was launched by FES with a view to the increasing alienation and the spread of hostilities and prejudices within the Israeli society. 20 young Arab and Jewish activists, graduates of the Young Leadership Program of the Abraham Fund Initiatives and of Politikva, came together to break down barriers and to look for ways to establish civil and political cooperation. During the three-day seminar the participants discussed topics relating to democracy, equality of different groups in Israeli society and how to establish a shared society in Israel. In addition the participants gained some insights into different models of mixed cities (Upper Nazareth, Lod and Ramla), into the situation of the Bedouins in the Negev, and regarding the political reality between Jewish and Arab Knesset members.
