
Yasmin Fahimi visited Israel at the occasion of the celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Israel and Germany. The highlights of the visit focused on two central topics: Memory of the Shoah and the strengthening of the Israeli-German Partnership.
Yasmin Fahimi visited the Knesset and met Representativs of the Israel Labour Party, the Sister Party of the SPD. She also met with MK Chilik Bar, Secretary-General of the Labour Party for an in-depth conversation about the complexity of the Israeli Politics and Society.
Fahimi and her delegation also met with Yoaz Hendel, famous Israeli journalist and formerly Director of Communications and Public Diplomacy for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a different approach to Israel’s political situation – closer to Israel’s government policy.
Other highlights of Fahimi’s visit included a visit at Itzhak Rabin’s grave and at Yad Vashem – the Holocaust History Museum and a meeting with Representatives of the Social Protest Movement, in which the social, political and economic challenges of Israel were discussed.
