On 19th of May, the Course 11 of Young Na’amat made an excursion to Yarka, the biggest Druze village in the north of Israel. The young women were invited to come to Yarka by three course participants who live there.
The group visited the local youth center of Yarka, where they got to know the volunteers of the youth center and together enjoyed homemade Druze food. Afterwards the young women walked through Yarka and learnt more about the history of the Druze community in Israel and the development of the Druze women’s role in society.
All in all, the visit in Yarka was a successful cultural exchange within the group of Young Na’amat, whose participants are culturally and socially very diverse but face similar challenges in everyday life.
