The department of the Middle East and North Africa includes 11 offices, 6 of them are representing the Middle East region. One of our main goals is to stabilize the region around the Middle East and the Arabic countries politically as well as socially. The FES offices of the region also work with exclusive partners in Iran, Iraq and Syria without maintaining own offices there. This region, mostly branded by crises, war and conflict is a special challenge for our work. Enhancing human – particularly women rights, pluralism and democracy, an effective economical and social development as well as supporting a sustainable commerce with our environment and the natural resources of the region are objectives which the offices of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung on the ground are committed to.
