On November 5, 2015 the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung bestowed its Human Rights Award 2015 to two Israeli mayors: Mr. Ilan Sadeh, mayor of Menashe Regional Council, and Hassan Atamna, mayor of Kafr Qara.
The award commission had chosen the two mayors for the award 2015 due to their extraordinary work for mutual Jewish-Arab understanding and cooperation. The two mayors were chosen both for their personal engagement and as representatives of the seven communities participating in the Givat Haviva Shared Communities initiative partnered by FES Israel. A short film that was presented at the award ceremony in Berlin illustrates the work of the two mayors as well as the shared communities initiative of Givat Haviva.
We are happy to present our visitors the film that was presented at the Human Rights Award ceremony in Berlin.
